A kiss full of teeth
Once upon a time,
long before mirrors
closed their narrow doors
onto mysterious worlds,
when eyes gazing reflectively
through silver screens
could cross the threshold
between conscious and unconscious,
Gisele witnessed
on the other side of the mirror,
disseminated all over her face,
from subliminal to infinitesimal,
see-through white bubbles
blowing out of her pores.
Growing inside each translucent bubble,
animated by the single desire to breathe,
pink embryonic atypic organisms,
appearing deceptively identical,
but each ultimately unique.
Watching through the silver screen
the origin of life re-enacted under her skin,
emanating from the core of her being,
peculiar nameless hybrids
of microflora and microfauna
evoking seaweeds and algae,
primal invertebrate animals,
sea anemones and flower-shaped corals,
self-sustaining respiratory organs,
lungs, bronchioles and alveoli,
most likely made
of primordial immortal jelly.
Gisele attentively contemplates
the fascinating spineless creatures
gently swayed in droplets of amniotic fluid,
their heartless bodies pulsing under their shield.
Pulled out from the depths of her imagination,
exhaling from her pores the bubbles into the air,
freed or freeing themselves, taking off,
minuscule helium balloons peacefully flying away,
their diaphanous skin bursting like soap bubbles
in absolute silence, leaving behind no evidence
of their ephemeral existence.
